Feb. 8th, 2008 @ 12:29 pm Tax Relief
Tags: , , ,
Ok, so be prepared, since most of you are in the class making $50K to $150K plus, you will not understand/be offended at this post.

Here's the thing. I am really, really pissed off. I mean, I have nto been this pissed off, in a long time.
I thought the whole idea of this "tax Relief" was to help the little man? the ones who actually NEED it.
Who the hell who makes $75K (individual) or $150K (couple) NEEDS $1200??????
And, if you do, and you "NEED" the $1200, please, let em know, because there is now way you could be in that bad of shape, unless you are living above your means)
If it's supposed to help the lower class, why the hell isn't going to help the lower class? If you are living paycheck to paychek, $300 means NOTHING. Not a blessed damnable thing. I'm actually insulted by the idea that the people who make up a good part of this country, the people who try the hardest, and get the least are getting screwed AGAIN. Do you really think $300 or even $600 is going to "put money back into the economy"????? NO. It is going to put a part of a mortgage payment down, or a car repair, or maybe buy one a months prescriptions, because these people can't afford health insurance, either. it MAY buy a couple of good nights out, jsut because every once in a while, a couple who each work 50hours a week would like it, but can't. Cause, you know, that's chump change, and for many would only buy two dinners out, and  movie.
It's bloody fricken ridiculous, and I am truly insulted by the idea they think they can keep the lower middle class placated by $300!!!!
This is why I want either the fair tax, or the flat tax. The upper classes already get tax breaks, and incentives. They get bigger breaks on mortgage/interest paid, because DUH they can afford real houses, while the lower class struggles, and when they try to do, or buy smething that they dont' need, but would make them happy, they get told they dont' need it -they don't need to be happy. All they "need" to do is pay their bills, and make sure Uncle Sam gets what he thinks he's owed, even if it puts the people who keep Uncle Sam in place on the streets, living in a box.
And they think $300 or $600 is really going to help.

Someone, please, tell me what drugs these esteemed people are on, because it must good, and I might like to try some.
This post is written by someone who is considered (by the esteemed government) 65% below the poverty level, who can't afford health insurance (but was told by a Social Service worker if she got pregnant/had kids to come back, and they pay all my medical bills, and we could pretty much get any aide we wanted "are you pregnant...can you get that way???") whose husband is stuck with a medical problem, copays that are almost unattainable, working in a business that relies on the economy (yeah, we're supposed to have one of those) unable to go to school to get a good job because it takes, you know, money; drives cars so old most junk yards wouldnt' take them, and is tired of being screwed over by everyone, including Uncle Sam!

Dec. 4th, 2007 @ 06:47 pm Christmas
I don't understand something.
When did Christmas become bad?
We have Kwaanza, Hannukah, Easter -Easter is a religious holiday -perhaps more so than Christmas, but there is no question about Walgreens, Target, Walmart, or anywhere else putting up "Happy Easter" signs.
I can't think of one thing about Easter that isn't based on religion.
But woe be unto he who say "Merry Christmas".
You can say "Happy Hannukah" or whatever one says to someone who celebrates Kwanza, or another holiday, but Christmas is offensive.
Now, it's  "Happy Holidays" -yes, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are all happys holidays. Holidays;
There have always been differences in beliefs. But my aunt, who was an elder in the Kingdom Hall until she died, was never offended that we put up decorations, and dealt with the fact all teh stores did. She considered it ignorance, disagreed with it, but, to the best of my knowledge, realized that some people celebrate pagan holidays, and birthdays, too.
Now, a local restaurant we frequent, and know a number of the employees there,  they put up garland, and red bows. Nothing that says "Merry Christmas" just red bows, and garland. And the Jehovah's Witness assistant manager had a screaming cursing fit.
Well, I'm sorry, but the last time I checked, the same thing that gives you the right to curse my beliefs gives me the right to have them. It gives you the right to turn your head, or not shop at stores that say "Merry Christmas" -it also gives me the right to shop at stores that say "Merry Christmas", as well as stores that reference Kwanza, or Hannukah, while I do not believe in, nor support either one.

How does taking away my rights to have the option to support my belief, but getting you your way mean that no one is going to get offended? Is the logic that "So long as the Christians have their religious rights squashed, all the other religions/philosophys can live in peace"?
How is "Christmas" more offensive than any other religious holiday? or does Christmas, and it's religious ties just scare the pants off some people? Strange, I would've thought that would be what Easter did.
How does taking away my options for religious equality, but keeping everyone elses equal relgious equality? Is it equal only if the Christians don't get a say? We can support buddism, Judaism, athiesim, and agnostics, but not Christians?
I recall in school, friends couldn't read their Bibles on their lunch break -not in class, not on school time -on their lunch break. It seems the mere sight of a Bible is now considered offensive.
I'm not even going to start on prayer in schools, saying the Pledge of Alliegence before class, or teaching Darwinism.
I'm talking Christmas.
Maybe I don't believe in Hannukah, or Kwanza, or for that matter, in Black History month, Halloween, or the Fourth of July.

If I start a petition to squash those things, do you think it would work?
Why is religious freedom granted in full to non Christians?
Does it matter that I'm offended you're offended?
